Mark Campbell is one of opera’s most sought after librettists. Recent productions include Volpone with Wolf Trap Opera, music by John Musto; Later the Same Evening with the University of Maryland and the National Gallery of Art, music by Musto; and Bastianello/Lucrezia with New York Festival of Song at Weill Recital Hall, music by Musto and William Bolcom. Notable musicals include Songs From An Unmade Bed with New York Theatre Workshop and Light Shall Lift Them at BAM. He has been the recipient of a Grammy nomination, three Drama Desk Award nominations, two Richard Rodgers Awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a New York Foundation for the Arts Playwriting Fellowship, and a Kleban Foundation Award.
